23/09/2020 – The Clos Corriol Blanc 2019 and Clos Mustardó Blanc 2017 wines from the Joan Ametller winery have been distinguished with a gold medal at the eighth edition of the Grenaches du Monde international competition, held in September in Montpellier, France. The two references were awarded in the category “Garnacha pura” by the competition’s experts.
Clos Corriol and Clos Mustardó are the great winemaking bets of the Priorat winery based in the Morera de Montsant. Both, single-varietal of white garnacha, are produced in vineyards between 650 and 700 metres above sea-level.
Tasting notes
Clos Corriol 2019: Straw-yellow colour, pale and brilliant. On the nose, it is intense with aromas reminiscent of white fruit, citrus and floral tones. It is sweet, fresh, with good acidity in the mouth and with a medium to long lingering finish.
Clos Mustardó 2017: Bright straw-yellow colour. Aromas reminiscent of ripe white fruit with floral, herbaceous and smoky notes. It is an expressive wine on the palate, unctuous, balanced, tasty, mineral and with a long and persistent aftertaste.
